In metahistorical New York city electrotechnician Lafayette (Gérard Depardieu) deals with a megalomaniac director of a wax museum of ancient Rome (James Coco), an italian lonely anarchist (Marcello Mastroianni), a group of feminist actresses - including Angelica (Abigail Clayton) who falls in love with him - and a small adopted chimpanzee.
