Писатель не очень понимает, что делать со своим литературным героем. Он придумывает для него традиционные для нашего времени испытания: тюрьма, безработица, потеря возлюбленной, преследование со стороны бандитов, сложные отношения с матерью. А еще героя подстерегает нелепая смерть под колесами машины самого писателя. Персонаж покорно, как кукла, выполняет все предлагаемое автором…
