Mampazhaakalam centers on the life of the eldest son (Mohanlal) of a family who goes to the Gulf , after his father commits suicide on being cheated by evildoers. He returns home to regain the good times. At the end of the travails of the hero, it is once again 'Mampazhaakalam' ('spring time') in his life.
