History and religion provide inspiration in composer Kari Tikka's moving opera about the life and times of Martin Luther. Taped live at the Temppeliaukio Church in Helsinki, this performance features tenor Lassi Virtanen, baritone Esa Ruuttunen, mezzo soprano Eeva-Liisa Saarinen, soprano Merja Wirkkala and tenor Aki Alamikkotervo. Extras include a tour of the sanctuary and a primer on the operatic piece itself.
