The famous ballet company Béjart Ballet Lausanne (BBL) prepares for the premiere in the Paris Opera House. Two dance couples will perform on alternate evenings in the opening duet. One of the dancers is the American ballerina Kathleen Thielhelm, the central character in the movie. After nine years dancing in the Joffrey Ballet, she has just arrived to Europe and this show means a great chance for her. Scenes are shown of the rehearsals of both dance couples, travel to Paris, preparation in the Palais Garnier, instructions of repetitors and artistic director Gil Roman, etc. It gives an interesting ‘behind the curtains’ view of the daily matters of the dance company. All is set for the premiere, but then the unexpected happens…
