Humorous Phases of Funny Faces Trailer

Humorous Phases of Funny Faces Trailer (1910)

01 January 1910 Animated 1 mins

A line squiggles across the screen, drawing detailed caricatures of various Edwardian-looking characters. A stately gentleman with a turned-up moustache appears first, with a stick figure dancing on the tip of his elongated nose. Next, a balding gentleman with a long face and a spider dangling from his nose. Cycling through various shapes, the line settles next on a grotesque portrait of an older lady with fancy jewellery, a turned-up nose and a hint of facial hair. After, a sombre looking literary gent cries a steady flow of tears, before the film concludes with an overweight entertainer, complete with gaudy bow-tie and a spinning clown nose.
