There are views of Roosevelt and Cornelius Vanderbilt, the chairman of the welcoming committee, walking toward the Battery Park platform, with photographers lining their approach. Mayor William J. Gaynor greets Roosevelt at the base of the Battery platform, with the spectators' stand visible in the background. There is a side view of Roosevelt and Gaynor on the platform.
