The pheasant's summer holiday draws to a close as shooting season begins on this Norfolk game reserve. Pheasant season gets off with a bang - followed by many more - as the landed folk of Norfolk take aim. For pheasants the red ring on the calendar is 1 October each year; few creatures fear the end of the summer months more than game birds bred to be blasted, but at least these poor creatures got to appear in the newsreels.
