In this musical comedy, sailors sailing to Finland on a sailing ship pass the time by making a bet: whoever is the last to bring a girl to the Kultaisen Ankkuri restaurant has to pay for the whole evening. In the port town, Arvi Rajanne falls in love with the charming Kerttu.
Three mice run, cavort, sing and dance around in the stores and restaurants a big city at night. They wind up in a café for an early-morning snack and stocking up on food provisions before they return to the safety of their den beneath a man-hole cover in the street.
