A newsreel from the 1940s depicts the Lima festival of San Juan de los Amancaes, a time when Lima revives one of its most vibrant celebrations. The film features everything from the marinera dance to colorful characters such as veiled women and street vendors, among others. It also shows the so-called "promenade of the fools" on the way to the Amancaes, where a group of horsemen rides alongside cars toward the pampa to attend the festivities.
The coming of the pioneer settlers in 1840, the making of their first homes in the wilderness, the gold rushes, the Maori wars, the stage coaches, and the frontier towns.
Grace Peterson works in department stores "Tutto per Tutti", along with many other young people. His employment contract entitling them to live in a boarding house built specifically for them by the company but on the other hand, forbid them not fall in love or marry under threat of dismissal.
