Gentleman Trailer

Gentleman Trailer (1941)

01 May 1941 Factual, War

An anti-British Nazi compilation “documentary” that mocks the gentleman code of Churchill, Chamberlain, Halifax, and Eden by recutting newsreels: British retreats in France/Belgium/Holland and Greece are blamed for civilian deaths and destruction, while German forces are cast as humane liberators who repair bridges and feed refugees; it culminates by denouncing the Royal Navy’s strike at Mers-el-Kébir.
