The Yue Opera film "Mao Zipei Enters the Palace" was adapted into a film in the 1960s, starring Yue Opera performing artists Jin Yalou and Xiao Lingfeng, and was deeply loved by a generation of Yue Opera fans. The story tells the poignant love story of Mao Zipei, the son of the censor Mao Long, and Xue Mei. The film shows the licentious and brutal life of the feudal emperors and praises the steadfast love. During the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty. Mao Zipei, the son of the censor Mao Long, studied with Xue Mei, the daughter of his teacher, since childhood. They were childhood sweethearts and fell in love with each other. One year during the Qingming Festival, Xue Mei returned to her hometown with her father to visit the grave, but she never heard from her father again, and Zipei missed her all day long.
