A historic adaptation of the life of José Pablo Morales who fought against an exploitative system of payment to day laborers during the reign of the Spanish governor General Juan de la Pezuela in mid nineteenth century Puerto Rico.
Traveling lawman comes to town and schools the residents in collective farming practices. There's also a bad guy with a lot of money who's cut off the water supply to the area's farmers, and the soul of a murder victim that manifests as a flying fireball.
Lucky Jo and his three friends are little criminals, who try to live from small burglaries. But they never have luck - ever so often something inpredictable happens to Jo and gets one of them arrested.
