In the filmmaker's words: “Dedicated to that pain made flesh, called the People; to that martyr, made of scars and rags, with hands bound by the iniquity of all laws made in their name, and mouth sealed by the blasphemous stone of Force, placed upon it like the claw of a basalt sphinx…”
