Unable to control his anger, Halim Ağa's son Ali burns down Mehmet's house and tries to rape Melek. Melek commits suicide to escape Ali. As Mehmet is being taken away by the police, the bandit Kara Hacı rescues him. When Mehmet returns to his village, he sees that Melek is dead.
