Mukthi movie is all about Haridas (Mammootty) who is the son of a village peon, who returns to his home district as the central government-appointed Collector. The pressures of the new job create complexities in his personal and professional life, eventually causing a rift between him and his younger brother Sudhakaran (Rahman).
