The film is adapted from the story of "Mrs. Deer" in the 85th Grotto of Dunhuang Mural in China. Legend has it that there is a deer girl at the foot of Lotus Mountain, who was chased by Xia Guo's hunting team, but was fortunately rescued by King Yan.
