A magical wizard visits a poor royal family. In exchange for food and kind treatment, he gives King Matyáš, Queen Elíza, and Princess Sylvie a magic telescope, a magic whistle, and a magic pouch that knows everything best. The princess uses the purse to pressure her parents during the courtship, when her beloved, Prince Zbyšek, arrives with his father, King Vladislav. However, the purse does not approve of the marriage, and so the courtship ends with a rift between the two royal families.
