Big News, Small Town is a glimpse into Centralia, Pennsylvania, a town that has had an underground mine fire burning beneath it since the 1960s. Throughout the documentary we spend time with a few of the remaining Centralia residents, some former residents that relocated within the anthracite coal region, and locals from nearby towns. At the core of B N S T is a dismantled community and a dying town, with no hope of revival.
