Govoreči maček, zlobni grof, grbavec in lepa princesa - tale risanka ima vse sestavine klasične pravljice. Carabass, sin revnega mlinarja, je razočaran, ko podeduje garjavega mačkona. Toda ko mu maček reši življenje, mu je hitro jasno, da to ni samo navaden mačkon. Carabass po naključju sreča kraljevo hčer in se zaljubi vanjo. Zaveda se, da njegova ljubezen ne bo uslišana, saj nima ne denarja ne lepih oblek in ga preganja zlobni grof. Zabava se začne, ko mu priskoči na pomoč prebrisani maček, ki je skoval načrt, s katerim bosta prelisičila grofa in pridobila naklonjenost kraljeve družine.
