Arne Evertsson is a lifeguard. In the film, he transports Ivo Maričić (1935-1998), who died in Sweden, to the grave in Croatia. The story begins when Ivo in the 1960s takes to Sweden in pursuit of a better life. His wife and children accompany him to his native village to bury him there.
