Flip, an eight-year-old boy living in the late 1960s, knows just what to do with his birthday dollar. It's his perfect opportunity to finally get one of those wonderful-sounding novelties that he's seen advertised in the back of his favorite comic book. But with so many choices (x-ray specs, rubber masks, the "U-control" monster), he'll have to summon his own wild imagination to fully explore all the possibilities.
This adventurous feature film is a sequel to Paul Verhoeven's legendary youth series from 1969. In this modern film version - the Middle Ages are more imaginative and larded with anachronistic jokes - the story revolves around Floris (grandson of Rutger Hauer's character from the series), a peace-loving bloke whose father despises him because he refuses to carry on the family tradition of stout-hearted knights defending freedom: Floris is an actor.
Robert (25) runs a very successful illegal business, the buying and selling of drugs. In the height of success he learns that his sister Janice (16) becomes hooked on Heroin.
Bob Parr has given up his superhero days to log in time as an insurance adjuster and raise his three children with his formerly heroic wife in suburbia.
The larger-than-life Jules Verne adventure about reclusive genius Captain Nemo, his magnificent submarine, The Nautilus, and the perilous voyage he makes with a group of captive adventurers, one of which is a brave young woman disguised as a man.
