'I Dreamt of Flying' is a mixed media documentary, combining hand-drawn illustration with archive material. The piece focuses on the crews of Bomber Command who sacrificed their lives in the skies to help end World War II. My intention was to illustrate the distinct contrasts between the heroic and romanticised perceptions of the R.A.F and the brutal and terrifying realities so many young airmen faced night after night.
The film is a tribute to those men who risked their lives and to my grandfather; an RAF tail-gunner 1943-44.
A troubled young black teenager Maxine rescues an eccentric old lady Eve from an unhappy slap by a mixed-race gang of teens and is rewarded for her act of kindness with the gift of a terrible secret: how to make and operate a WISHBABY.
Kristina, a beautiful young lady who sells fresh fruits at her province, only wants a simple life. And her father, Ronaldo, manages a large hectre of Mango farm.
Three characters from various regions in the Middle East seek to find peace of mind by challenging their contrasting political and personal identities before an act of senseless violence brings them together.
