No Magic Bullet is a feature documentary made in 2007, exploring the persistently high rates of HIV infection among gay men in London at that time. Produced and directed by Jaime Sylla and funded by a Social Entrepreneur Award from UnLtd Millennium (part of the Big Lottery Fund), the film examines how factors including homophobia, HIV stigma, mental health, alcohol and recreational drug use, and the impact of antiretroviral advances were influencing perceptions of HIV prevention and risk. The documentary features interviews with leading figures in the HIV sector, including Professor Jonathan Elford, activist Peter Tatchell, Will Nutland, and Dr Mark Nelson, alongside the personal testimonies of three gay men at different stages of their HIV diagnoses.
