Viagem ao Meio Trailer

Viagem ao Meio Trailer (2010)

01 January 2010 120 mins

The tunnel functions as a darkroom. The film is overexposed at the tunnel entrance and marked by light. The deeper the film penetrates the volcano, the less light it captures. In the center, the light fades, leaving the film unexposed. The result is a long fade that progresses from deep black to immaculate white. Meanwhile, the same trip was recorded with a video camera, following the film trail. The end result presents the opposite: in the video, the light appears at the beginning, recorded at the entrance. The further the video progresses, the darker it becomes. Both the film and the video are projected superimposed on the same screen. The overexposed edges of the film allow the video to be seen, but as the narrative evolves, the faint light becomes progressively more present, erasing the video image. In the center, the video image is diluted in the bright light of the film, leaving it with its sound.
