Vaidooryam tells the story of Gayathri, a village girl who loves Sreekuttan. Sreekuttan joins the army and leaves the village. After some time, he goes missing and the news spreads in the village. Everyone starts believing that Sreekuttan is dead except Gayathri. She starts her journey in search of him. The problems she faces in her journey and the truth she finds out forms the crux of the story.
