The documentary Long Yi (龙意), is a project conceived by the Turin director Gianluca Vitale and financed by ANGI that explores the culture of dragon boats. The cameras start from Turin, where a women's team practices this sport as rehabilitation following breast cancer surgery, and goes to China to discover its roots. The documentary was filmed in 2012 in Turin, Beijing, Hubei and Wenzhou (Zhejiang). It uses this ancient sport as a pretext to unite two distant countries that find themselves united by this practice, and offers these two peoples the opportunity to get to know each other better.
