Walter is a grumpy old man who suffers from his loneliness and sees suicide as the only way out. His neighbor, the lonely Vera, hopes that Walter will be the company he needs. She tries to conquer Walter using the talent she has in the kitchen. Between the two, there is the porter Zezinho, young Don Juan who sees no problem at all in living alone.
