1644 AD. Last days of Ming Dynasty. Rebel Li Zicheng stormed his way to the capital. Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself on a tree, Prince Zhu Ciyuan became the puppet in the hands of different power groups. In order to protect the young prince, the Ming Dynasty's Leng Yanquan, with the help of his long-time friend Venerable Lingkong, allowed the prince to become a monk at Ling Yan Temple, where he was given the name "Sak Yuan". However, it was leaked that Leng Yanquan's entire family was killed by the Imperial Guard and the Zuo Clan in order to protect the Crown Prince, and Su Xiao, a famous courtesan, was forced to commit suicide. Leng Yue Ru, the daughter of Leng Yanquan, is still in love with Shi Yuan, and they have to protect their love in the midst of war.
