Six women of different generations and backgrounds traverse a narrow steel beam at a great height in “Woman’s Work,” a subversive statement on the power of the male gaze over the idealized female image of beauty. Through movement and metaphor, the film analyzes how the body relates to socially accepted frameworks and imagines how these structures and systems can be challenged and overthrown by the collective power of radical transparency and honest embodied expression.
