Paulinka is seriously ill. She takes 20 pills every day and often loses consciousness. The mother is a deaf person and for fear that she will not be able to call for help in time, she decides to give her daughter to an orphanage. Paulinka wants to be the nicest little girl in the world, thus increasing her chances of getting a foster family....
