The film centers on a single queer pup who, in the quiet solitude of his apartment, begins his day by eating breakfast—oatmeal, yogurt, and two bananas—from a dog bowl on the floor. As the pup eats, a candid voice-over unfolds, and a secret about his food is revealed. He reflects on the nature of desire and disgust—failed relationships, encounters with gay-bashing, strange sexual fantasies, and the feeling of isolation that comes along with stigmatized desire. Dressed in a harness, chastity cage, boots, and a tail, we witness the pup move in and out of his puppy headspace, a mental state that offers him comfort, calm, and connection to a simpler, more grounded sense of self.
