Qing soldiers invaded the Indigenous Amis Village of Cepo’ in 1877. Kacaw is riddled with guilt after he’s unable to save those who flee to Cilangasan. His wife is pregnant, and their people are starving. Kacaw eventually convinces Mayaw, the head of the community, to harvest rice for Qing soldiers in the lowlands. But will everyone return home after such an arduous journey?
