The mind is the battlefield in the short film Head War, originating as a poetry book by Sadie McCarney and adapted for the screen by videographer Adam-Michael James. Taken from McCarney's own medical records from her time in inpatient care, Head War follows her sometimes brutal, sometimes surreal, always honest journey from rock bottom to the trailhead of recovery, leading audiences through trenches that are poignant, disturbing, funny, and hopeful.
