Arika Nusa, specially created for the exhibition Bakudengar at Museum Arnhem, addresses the urgency of nature conservation in light of life and culture in the Moluccas. “Arika” in the Moluccan language refers to someone who is quick, alert, and courageous. “Nusa” means land or homeland. Arika Nusa therefore stands for agility of mind, skill, and courage in protecting one’s own Moluccan homeland.
