Laolao, Nainai, And Me Trailer (2026)
In 2005, at the age of 20, I got my first DV camera. Back then, I harbored a lofty dream: to become a film director. When I wasn’t shooting short films, I occasionally filmed the two elderly women in my family — my maternal grandmother and paternal grandmother. Simply put, they were advanced in years, and I wanted to leave some footage as memories for my future children.I shot numerous short films and wrote dozens of screenplays over those years, yet none of them ever went anywhere. My maternal grandmother passed away in 2018, followed by my paternal grandmother in 2020, and my dream of making films crumbled completely during that period. It was not until one day, as I looked at my own child, that it suddenly dawned on me: those trivial daily recordings might well be the most precious footage I had ever captured. I then resolved to edit the years of archived material into a full-length feature.
