When she takes the pill, her body undergoes a violent transformation, expelling a thick, black substance that leaves her feeling lighter than she has in years. For the first time, Gee feels the joy, clarity, and freedom she’s been chasing, but as her sense of self slowly begins to fracture, she is forced to confront the terrifying possibility that the reflection in the mirror isn’t her at all.
