Aída Bortnik was born on January 7, 1938 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was a writer, known for The Official Story (1985), Ashes of Paradise (1997) and Wild Horses (1995). She died on April 27, 2013 in Buenos Aires.
One screenplay she wrote was the first Argentine film to be 'nominated' for an Academy Award (The Truce, 1974). Another was the first Argentine film to 'win' an Academy Award (La historia official, 1985).
