Never afraid to experiment, Al Carretta is a trailblazing British filmmaker. Never funded and working tirelessly with ingenuity and the resources available, he now has 22 multi-genre indie features behind him since 2010. (See IMDb for the full list). His films are now widely released on streaming platforms across the World thanks to industry disruptor Filmhub.
With original soundtracks produced on every film an enviable catalog of original content and intellectual property has been created over the decade that comes in on a total spend of around £80k. Throw in the development of Nightpiece Film Festival, launched in the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe (reaches it's 10th year in 2023) and you have the framework behind a passionate and devoted arts producer who epitomizes the spirit of independent production.
In Spring 2023, Carretta completed his psychological horror 'The Chant Of July'. In Summer 2023, he delivered the missing persons drama 'Twenty Two Presence', which is currently in the process of an Autumn release.
