Anna Schudt grew up in the Egg district of Constance as the elder of two daughters born to a biochemist and a body therapist. She gained her first theatrical experience at the Theater Konstanz. At the age of 17, she began her acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich.
In 1994, during the artistic directorship of Dieter Dorn, she became a permanent ensemble member of the Münchner Kammerspiele. In 2002, she and the ensemble were awarded the Kurt Meisel Prize for their performance in *Hekabe* (Hecuba). In 2006, she was once again honored with the Kurt Meisel Prize for her portrayal of Maria Stuart in the drama of the same name.
In 2010, she played the title role in *Anna Karenina* at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.
Since 2002, Schudt has regularly appeared before the camera for film and television productions. She made her screen debut in the television drama *Im Chaos der Gefühle* (In the Chaos of Emotions).
