Antonin left Czechoslovakia in 1968, passing through Norway. From there, he made his way to Canada, where he became a citizen.
He settled in Toronto, where he lived until his passing in 2023 due to complications from COVID.
He is survived by his sisters in Prague and his common-law family in Toronto.
Antonin was an avid sailor and a member of the Etobicoke Yacht club, where he had built his own sailboat from a bare hull.
