Burton Cummings got his start in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada performing in a number of bands. Ultimately, the Guess Who became one of the most popular of all rock bands in the 1970s. Cummings came into contact with several other Winnipeg musicians. Randy Bachman was part of the Guess Who for many years before starting his own band, Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
