Qiong Yao (simplified Chinese: 琼瑶; traditional Chinese: 瓊瑤) is a contemporary Chinese writer. She was born in Chengdu, China on April 4th, 1938 as Chen Che (simplified Chinese: 陈喆; traditional Chinese: 陳喆). In 1949, she moved to Taiwan with her father. She has used Xinru (simplified Chinese: 心如) and Fenghuang (simplified Chinese: 凤凰) as pen names.
