David Gesslbauer was born in Einsiedeln, Switzerland, in 1991, but grew up in Austria. From 2005 to 2010, he studied audiovisual media design at the HTBLVA Graz-Ortweinschule. From 2012 to 2018, Gesslbauer studied editing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. He lives in Berlin.
He has been making his own short films since 2013 and is responsible for editing short films, commercials and music videos. In 2017, he worked as an editor on the feature film Antimarteria by director Specter Berlin. In 2019, Gesslbauer edited the music video for Rammstein's single Deutschland, which was also directed by Specter Berlin.
