Eila Kaarresalo-Kasari moved to New York in 1964 and graduated in 1968 from NY City College, majoring in Cinema. She lived in New York for ten years working on different positions in the film industry. She has directed and produced three short films. Her film "Ampumarata" has toured film festivals around the world over fifty years.
