Enrique García Velloso was a playwright, film director, theater director and screenwriter who was born in Rosario, Argentina on September 2, 1880 and died in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on January 27, 1938. Besides being one of the most important dramatists in Argentine theater of the early 20th century, he is remembered for directing the first Argentine feature film, "Amalia" in 1914.
