The research conducted in Bahia in the early 1940s by the African-American linguist Lorenzo Turner, in Candomblé terreiros in Salvador and Recôncavo Baiano, left as a legacy precious audio records of religious personalities such as Mãe Menininha do Gantois, Joãozinho da Goméia and Manoel Falefá.
