Hassan Hosny was born in the Al Qal’aa neighborhood of Cairo, his father was a construction contractor. Housny’s mother passed away when he was only six years old and he was educated at the Radwaniyeh Elementary school. Hosny participated in theater productions at his school and received several awards for his efforts. Thereafter he took part in theatrical works whilst in the army and joined the “Al Keim” theater
He was known for El Nazer, El basha telmiz and Zaky Chan. Widely regarded as a veteran of Egyptian cinema, his acting career spanned over 50 years and included performances in almost 500 films, television programs, and theatre plays
