Ernst Jacob Theodor Kressner (born in february 12, 2000) is an independent film director, writer, producer and sound designer in Stockholm, Sweden. He studied film for two years at Sundbybergs Folkhögskola where he made two short films in the body horror sub-genre. Jacob's films uses unconventional allegories in order to tell deeply personal stories and experiences set in everyday environments. The heightened imagery portrays manic variations of sadness, horror, beauty and joy. Like many others the first film Jacob remembers seeing was "The lord of the rings" with his father at the age of 4. Even though his mother was mortified and tried to cover the violent imagery with a blanket, Jacob became enchanted by the magic, the action and the forbidden horror. Growing up he discovered that he had a lively imagination and a wide-eyed fascination with all of the films that were sadly banned to him by a strict rating system. He made his first short film with a flip phone camera at the age of 10. It didn't satisfy him as he felt limited by the low budget and shoddy equipment. His interest in filmmaking layed dormant for a while and he spent a couple years confused as to what he wanted to do with himself. At the age of 17 he was struck with the realisation that the only thing that made sense for him to do was to start making movies and learn to make them the way his idols did, Peter Jackson and Tarantino of course but also Charlie Kaufman and Lynch. He started studying film in 2019 while working extra at a local cinema and since then all of his efforts have gone into finding his voice as a filmmaker.
