State of Mexico, 1999. José Iván Olivares graduated from Centro de diseño, cine y televisión with a bachelor in Film and Tv. Fayna was his final project. In it, he combined his passion for animation, painting and visual storytelling while exploring the importance of hope and the beauty of bonfires. In 2023, he became an animation student on the Classical Animation course in Vancouver Film School. He is currently developing Memoria, his latest short, where he dives in the way photography can serve as a metaphor for memory.
